Etsy Frame TV art: how to buy it well
Updated September 17, 2026
Etsy is where most Frame TV art is bought – and where most disappointing Frame TV art is bought, because listings are easy to make and hard to judge from a thumbnail. Here is what to check, what to pay, and how single listings compare with a bundle. (Our own 1,000-design bundle is sold on Etsy too, so read this as a buyer’s guide with a declared interest.)
The five checks before you buy
- 3840 × 2160 pixels. The listing must say it, ideally in the title or the first line. “4K”, “high resolution” and “300 dpi” are not the same thing – 300 dpi is a print spec and says nothing about pixels. Details: size and dimensions.
- 16:9 aspect ratio. Many sellers repurpose print art in 2:3, 3:4 or 4:5. Those will sit inside a matte with the sides filled, not fill the Frame.
- JPEG (or PNG) files, delivered as instant download. Avoid listings that email files later or deliver via third-party links.
- No watermark or text in the delivered file. Watermarked previews are fine; the delivered art should be clean. Listings with signatures or lettering in the art itself look like posters on the TV.
- Style suits Art Mode. Painterly, matte, muted work looks like a painting; glossy digital renders and saturated photos look like a screensaver. See what makes art look real.
Also glance at reviews with photos – buyers often post the piece on their actual Frame, which tells you more than the mockup – and at the AI disclosure: Etsy requires sellers to say when art is AI-generated. That is not a mark against it (ours is, and says so), but undisclosed AI with artist-imitating prompts is a red flag for both quality and copyright.
What things cost
| Listing type | Typical price | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Single design | $3–8 | Fine for one favourite |
| Small set (5–20) | $8–20 | Usually one style or season |
| Bundle (50–200) | $15–40 | Best value for a seasonal rotation |
| Mega bundle (500–1,000+) | $20–60 | Check that it is not padded with recolours |
Watch for bundles where “1,000 designs” means 100 designs in 10 colourways. Ours counts distinct scenes and styles only – recolours and alternate crops are not counted.
After buying: download and upload
Etsy downloads live in the web browser, not the app: etsy.com → You → Purchases and reviews → Download Files. Unzip, then SmartThings → Art Mode → Add your photos, or a USB stick into the One Connect box. The full path, including iPhone quirks, is in how to download Frame TV art.
Etsy vs the Samsung Art Store vs a bundle
- Art Store: museum masterpieces, subscription, no ownership – comparison.
- Etsy singles: pick exactly what you want; costs add up fast past ten pieces, and quality is per-listing.
- A bundle: one purchase, consistent quality and sizing, a whole year of seasons. The trade-off is that you will not display all 1,000 – you are paying for choice.
For a living room Frame that changes with the seasons, a bundle plus a handful of Etsy singles for specific tastes is the combination most owners settle into.
Other places to buy
Creative Market and Gumroad host independent designers with similar listings and sometimes lower fees; check the same five points. Amazon has very little genuine digital Frame art – most “Frame TV art” results there are physical bezels or generic prints. Artists’ own sites are worth a look for a signature piece.
Our bundle, briefly
1,000 original designs, all 3840 × 2160 JPEG, 12 subject collections and 12 seasonal sets, painterly styles, no text, AI-generated and disclosed, organised into folders so you can upload a season at a time. Every design is previewable on this site – for example the best 50 – and 36 are free to try first.

Yes – it is the largest market for it, with thousands of listings from independent designers, usually $3–15 per design or $10–40 for sets. Quality varies; the checks in this guide (3840 × 2160, 16:9, JPEG, no watermark) separate good listings from bad.
How do I get Etsy art onto my Frame TV?
Download the files in a web browser from Purchases and reviews, unzip, then upload via SmartThings (Add your photos) or a USB stick. Step by step: how to download Frame TV art.
What is a fair price for Frame TV art on Etsy?
Singles typically $3–8; bundles of 20–100 designs $10–40; very large bundles (500–1,000) $20–60. Anything cheaper is often upscaled stock or public-domain scans.
Where else can I buy Frame TV art?
The Samsung Art Store (subscription), Creative Market and Gumroad (independent sellers), and directly from artists' sites. Amazon has few genuine digital art listings for the Frame. Our bundle is sold on Etsy.
