Autumn poplar row along a farm track
Tonal oil painting
Tonal oil painting · Frame TV art from the landscape collection
Snowfall in the Valley is a landscape composed for the wide 16:9 shape of a TV: the horizon sits comfortably inside the safe area and the view opens out to the left and right, the way a real canvas landscape would on a wall.
Expressive palette-knife and brush marks build the surface, so the image keeps a physical, painted texture even when the TV is displaying it at full 3840 × 2160. The medium is tonal oil painting.
It works well in a bedroom, where the muted tones and low Art Mode brightness keep the TV from glowing at night. For the most convincing result set Art Mode brightness two or three notches below the default and the colour tone to warm; the painted surface then looks matte rather than lit. It is a winter piece, made to carry the Frame from January until the first blossom scenes go up.
Format: 3840 × 2160 JPEG, 16:9, sRGB – ready to upload through the SmartThings app or a USB stick with no editing. Part of the 1,000-piece Frame TV art bundle.
