Samsung The Frame TV – the “picture frame TV” most people mean when they say frame TV – is the default answer to “which TV looks like art”, but there are now seven Frame TV sizes, a Pro line and several model years on sale at once. This guide covers the Samsung Frame TV range (the Samsung picture frame TV, the Samsung The Frame Art Mode TV and the Frame Pro), Samsung Frame sizes from the small Frame TV at 32” to the 85”, and what each year changed. This guide is written from the art-display point of view – what matters when the TV is off most of the day – with the picture-quality trade-offs noted honestly.

Quick recommendations

  • Best overall: the current-year Frame 65” (LS03F, 2025). Big enough to read as a painting across a room, still reasonable in price.
  • Best value: a 2023–2024 Frame 55” or 65” (LS03C/LS03D) on sale. Same matte screen, same Art Mode.
  • Best picture: The Frame Pro 65”–85” (2025) – Mini-LED, real contrast for movies.
  • Bedroom / kitchen: Frame 43” (4K) or 32” (1080p) – the 32” is the only Frame that is not 4K, and it shows.

What changed by year

YearModel codeWhat’s new
2017–2019LS03N/ROriginal concept; glossy screen; dimmer Art Mode
2020LS03TSlimmer, first 32” model
2021LS03AMuch thinner chassis (24.9 mm), better processor
2022LS03BMatte anti-reflection screen – the big one for art
2023LS03CMinor: processor, Art Store additions
2024LS03D43”+ get 120 Hz on some sizes; Art Store price/features changes
2025LS03F / Frame ProStandard line refreshed; Pro adds Mini-LED, 144 Hz, wireless One Connect

If you care about the art, the line to draw is 2022: the matte screen is what makes the Frame look like paper instead of glass. Anything from 2022 on is a good art TV. Pre-2022 Frames are still fine for Art Mode but reflect the room.

Frame TV sizes: 32” to 85”

SizeResolutionTypical launch price (US)Good for
32”1920 × 1080~$600Kitchen, office, kids’ room
43”3840 × 2160~$1,000Bedroom, small living room
50”3840 × 2160~$1,300Medium rooms
55”3840 × 2160~$1,500Most living rooms
65”3840 × 2160~$2,000Living rooms, the sweet spot for art
75”3840 × 2160~$3,000Large rooms
85”3840 × 2160~$4,300Statement wall

Sale prices are routinely 20–30% under these. The Samsung 43” Frame TV is the smallest 4K model and the usual bedroom pick; the 55” and 65” are the best picture frame TVs for a living room. For art, bigger is better up to the point where the TV dominates the wall; a 65” over a sofa reads as a large canvas, an 85” reads as a TV unless the room is big.

The 2025 Frame TV lineup and sizes at a glance

The new Frame TV for 2025 is the LS03F series; The Frame TV by Samsung is now sold in these configurations:

  • Small Frame TV / small picture frame TV: 32” (Full HD) and 43” – the Samsung 43 Frame TV is the smallest 4K model. There is no 40” Frame TV; 43” is the size people searching for a 40 Frame TV end up with.
  • Mid: 50”, 55” (the Samsung picture frame TV 55 is the best-seller), 65” (the 65 picture frame TV and the size most reviewers recommend for art).
  • Large Frame TV: 70” is not a Frame size – the 75” is the step above 65” – and the 85” is the largest. There is no 100 inch Frame TV; Samsung’s 98”+ sizes are in other lines.
  • The Frame Pro: 65”, 75”, 85” only.
  • OLED: there is no Samsung Frame OLED; The Frame is QLED and the Pro is Mini-LED QLED.

Frame TV 2025 pricing follows the table below; a Frame TV for sale at 20–30% off list is normal outside launch months, and picture frame TV reviews rarely change year to year because Art Mode and the matte panel have been stable since 2022.

The Frame vs The Frame Pro

Both have Art Mode, the matte screen, the magnetic bezel and the One Connect box. The Pro (65”/75”/85”, 2025) adds:

  • Neo QLED Mini-LED backlight: deeper blacks, higher brightness, far better HDR. The standard Frame is an edge-lit QLED and is the weakest Samsung of its price for movies.
  • 144 Hz panel for gaming.
  • Wireless One Connect: the box can sit across the room; the TV needs only power.

For a TV used mostly as art with occasional viewing, the standard Frame is fine and much cheaper. For a main TV that also has to look good playing films, the Pro closes the gap with conventional Samsungs.

Picture quality, honestly

The standard Frame’s picture is good-not-great: edge-lit, modest contrast, matte screen slightly softens perceived sharpness. Reviews consistently rate it below same-price QLEDs for movies and above them for living-room aesthetics. If you would never use Art Mode, buy a different TV. If you would, the compromise is worth it – and the Pro reduces it.

The One Connect box

All Frame inputs (HDMI, USB, Ethernet, power on newer models) go into a separate One Connect box connected by a single thin cable, so the TV can be flush-mounted with one cable to hide. Plan where the box lives (a shelf, the wall cavity, a cabinet) before mounting; the cable is 5 m on most models, longer optional. Your USB art uploads go into this box, not the TV.

The back of the Frame TV, the box and accessories

The back of a Samsung Frame TV is flat, with a single One Connect cable port and the Slim-Fit mount points; the Samsung Frame TV back panel has no other inputs, which is what allows the no-gap mount. Everything else – HDMI, USB, power on newer years – lives on the Samsung Frame TV box (the One Connect box). Samsung Frame TV accessories worth knowing about: replacement bezels, the Studio Stand, the Auto-Rotating wall mount (for the Frame it stays landscape; rotation is a Sero/Odyssey feature), longer One Connect cables, and the wireless One Connect on the Pro.

What to buy alongside

  • Bezel: the black one is included; white, beige, teak, walnut and other finishes are $100–250 – see bezels and frames.
  • Wall mount: the Slim-Fit mount is in the box (US); the Studio Stand and Auto-Rotating mount are extras.
  • Art: the Art Store trial is included; then $4.99/month, or your own uploads. Our 1,000-design bundle covers a year of seasons in one purchase.

Alternatives

TCL’s NXTFRAME and Hisense’s CanvasTV undercut the Frame by several hundred dollars with a similar concept; LG and Sony have gallery features without the hardware. Compared in TVs that look like art and TCL vs Hisense vs Samsung.

Frequently asked questions

Which Frame TV is the best?

For most living rooms, the current-year standard Frame in 55" or 65" – it has the matte screen, the sensors and the bezel system at the best price. The Frame Pro (65"–85") is worth it if picture quality for movies matters as much as the art.

What sizes does the Samsung Frame come in?

32", 43", 50", 55", 65", 75" and 85". The 32" is Full HD; all others are 4K. The Frame Pro is 65", 75" and 85".

How much is a Frame TV?

US list prices run roughly $600 (32") to $4,300 (85"), with the 55" and 65" around $1,500 and $2,000 at launch and frequently $300–600 less on sale. The Frame Pro starts around $2,200 for 65".

What is the difference between The Frame and The Frame Pro?

The Pro (2025) adds Neo QLED Mini-LED backlighting for better contrast and brightness, a 144 Hz panel and a wireless One Connect box. Art Mode, bezels and the matte screen are the same.

Is the Frame TV OLED?

No. The Frame is QLED (LCD with quantum-dot backlight); the Frame Pro is Mini-LED QLED. Samsung has not released an OLED Frame; an OLED would risk image retention in Art Mode.

Is a 2023 or 2024 Frame still worth buying?

Yes if discounted. Art Mode and the matte screen are essentially unchanged since 2022; year-on-year differences are processor and minor picture tweaks. A 2023–2024 model on sale is often the best value.
