Autumn kingfisher above a slow stream
Japanese-inspired woodblock print
Japanese-inspired woodblock print · Frame TV art from the wildlife collection
A painting of autumn reeds and a heron at dusk, handled like a naturalist's plate – attentive to the creature, restrained in the background – and composed for a 4K TV display.
The woodblock-inspired style uses flat colour fields, bold outlines and a limited palette, in the spirit of a traditional print without copying any existing one. The medium is japanese-inspired woodblock print.
It pairs well with a warm-white matte on the Frame, which pulls the palette together and hides the panel edge. If the image looks too bright, the Frame's Art Mode settings let you lower brightness independently of TV mode; a small reduction goes a long way with this palette. It sits in the fall collection and looks its best from September through November.
The file is delivered at 3840 × 2160 pixels (4K UHD, 16:9) as an sRGB JPEG – the native resolution of every Samsung Frame from 43" to 85" and a format every 4K TV, Roku and Fire TV accepts. It is included in the 1,000-design Frame TV art bundle.
