About this Frame TV artwork

Skeleton key and dried roses on dark velvet: a seasonal piece painted in a traditional style, without cartoon characters or lettering, so the Frame TV looks like it is showing a holiday painting rather than a card.

The oil-painting treatment gives it weight: layered, opaque colour, brush marks that follow the forms, and a warm ground showing at the edges of shapes. The medium is tonal oil painting.

It suits a living-room Frame TV above a sofa, where the wide composition can be seen from across the room. Because the subject stays inside the safe area, you can add any of the Frame's digital mattes without cropping anything important. It is part of the Halloween rotation – atmospheric rather than gory, so it can stay on the Frame all October.

Supplied as a 3840 × 2160 sRGB JPEG, it needs no resizing or cropping for the Samsung Frame, and displays correctly on LG, Sony, TCL and Hisense art-mode TVs too. This design is one of 1,000 in the bundle.
